Welcome to this news web-log for DeuxPlus et Compagnie, a French-English early music ensemble based in the Charente (16) France. Kathy Smith and Chris Pell, who respectively direct and organise the ensemble, are also co-founders of the Festival Concerts "Eglises enchantées" held every year in the beautiful Romanesque churches in the department, further details for events in 2006 are detailed below. These concerts are held under the auspices of the association "Nanclars, Culture et Création" and with the support of the Commune of Nanclars in the Parish of Mansle. One of the founding concepts of the association is to bring music to the more rural areas of the Region.
The ensemble also give performances for other associations and communes in the Region. Contact details are also below. The members of the ensemble are professional musicians, instrument teachers and singers who also direct or perform with other choirs and music ensembles locally. The ensemble wishes to thank the Président du Conseil général de la Charente; Wendy Ferguson, the President, together with the members of the association "Nanclars, Culture and Création", and other private individuals for their invaluable assistance and financial support which makes it all possible.
